Kaedah sambungan dengan paip termasuk kimpalan langsung, sambungan bebibir, sambungan cair panas, sambungan cair elektrik, sambungan berulir dan sambungan soket. Kimpalan langsung adalah kaedah kimpalan yang paling biasa digunakan.
Menurut proses pengeluaran, ia boleh dibahagikan kepada: siku kimpalan, siku stamping, siku push, siku pemutus, siku kimpalan pantat, dan lain -lain. Nama -nama lain: 90 darjah siku, siku sudut kanan, dll.
